About Me.

Quick: a heads up to anyone who may be deciding to follow my blog—I’m a procrastinator. I ditched writing a personal response about Ethics on Special Education that’s due tomorrow just to start this blog—gasp! Probably because I’ve been putting off starting a blog since the beginning of the year—hence my emphasis on the procrastination. So, now that it is officially one day away from the first of February, it’s time to get a move on.

I guess this is the part where I need to tell a little bit about myself…wow, that could take awhile.

For the most part, I’m a twenty-one-year-old college student. I am an American Sign Language Interpreting major, English and Psychology double minor, and I love what I’m studying. I am a writer, a photographer, a reader, a traveler, a big sister, a daughter, a best friend, an outdoors(wo)man, a Christian, a lover, an artist, a signer, a movie fanatic, a chef, a dreamer, and a lot of other “-ers” that I’ll probably think of later. I love animals, but the only pet that will fit in this apartment are fish, which I would love to have more of. I am from a very tiny, very loving, very close-minded, and very country town, which I both miss and loathe tremendously. My greatest passions are of a wide range, and I like indulging in them every day if possible. I love to talk, most of the time too much. I have a large collection of quotes, lyrics, and other strings of words. Music is my greatest outlet. I love classic beauty. I live my life around trying new things, from new recipes to new destinations.

Okay, okay, let me get to the blog part. Enough rambling. I live with two roommates, both of whom love to cook as much as I do, and I just plain love food. I tried creating a blog around this time last year, and I think it scared me to death to devote something purely on my thoughts alone. Who wants to be alone with my head? Therefore, this blog is about the food I come across every day, whether it be something I make myself, something my roommates create, a place I dine out at, fast food, or my favorite yogurt. I’m all about trying as many different things as possible and trying to eat healthy while doing it. I was inspired by Julie and Julia, of course, but also by Eat Pray Love, the incredible novel/movie by Elizabeth Gilbert about finding yourself. In an essence, I plan to try to regain my ever-changing grip on reality here.

As another retry comes around for this year, I also plan on using this blog for reflection: about life, the world, society, my inner mojo, and pretty much anything that crosses my path. I’m going to try to break it up into different blogs if I get too complex, but we’ll do this one bite at a time (no pun intended). However, my challenge is to post every day, though I know I won’t always be able to accomplish that, so no promises here. So for now, happy eating!
